SOLD Mason's "Double Landscape" plate

A robust chunk of Georgian ceramic made by C.J. MASON circ 1825.
Known as the "Double landscape pattern" this example is an extremely collectable item as it is in great condition as well as being a very early rendition of this pattern, and is in strong vibrant colours.
Transfer printed in underglaze blue and then lavishly hand painted with iron red, green and pink, embellished with lots of rich gilding.
A nice touch on the reverse rim, three painted flower buds covering the stilt marks on which the plate would had sat in the kiln. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little signs of wear.
Rare to find this pattern on early pieces, especially in such good order.
